Details of Sansa’s new dress from The Mountain and the Viper
It’s interesting that Sansa Stark’s rebirth is visually depicted via the dress she creates. We see her sewing it when Littlefinger visits her in her room. The very first time viewers meet Sansa in season one, she is doing needlework with Septa Mordane telling her she’s done “fine work as always.” Sansa has always excelled at what are considered the more traditionally ladylike skills in Westeros. She is gifted with a needle, polite, and non-aggressive. Now she has maneuvered herself into a position where she can use Littlefinger’s weakness, something no one else has accomplished so far. She did so with her cunning, by watching, waiting and adapting to situations, and biting her tongue when need be. Her re-introduction in mourning black and with the feathers of a bird (though if she’s a mockingbird, an Arryn falcon, or a raven at heart remains to be determined) was created by Sansa, using the skill she’s had from the very beginning.
#THANK YOU #i love this commentary #i love that sansa was the one who made this dress #i hope we get scenes of her in s5 where she talks about alayne with petyr? #or at least alludes to all the ideas she has for this girl she is creating #i want her to be inspired by alayne and to thrive in it #before taking alayne’s strengths and applying them to SANSA

I can’t say that have a “favourite” book exactly… I choose this one because I think that this is where Sansa really starts to grow as a character. It’s the beginning of her newer, darker life.
